This is possible because thermal expansion of the shaft is accommodated within the bearing. The stiffness of the bearing arrangement, combined with the ability of the bearing to accommodate axial movement, substantially reduces vibrations within the application to increase service life of the bearing arrangement and related components.

A spherical roller bearing is a rolling-element bearing that permits rotation with low friction, and permits angular misalignment. Typically these bearings support a rotating shaft in the bore of the inner ring that may be misaligned in respect to the outer ring. The misalignment is possible due to the spherical internal shape of the outer ring and spherical rollers.

  • According to its internal construction, spherical roller bearings are divided into four types: R, RH, RHR, and RHA. These bearings consist of double-row inner and outer rings, as well as barrel-shaped convex rollers.
